It produces incredible distance that push the boundaries of both the R&A and USGA’s performance limitationsbut are within the guidlines and achieve this by plasma welding a thin, hot, ES230 maraging steel face to a 431 stainless steel body – a technique perfected in Mizuno’s MP Fli-Hi utility iron. With the Mizuno MX 1000 irons the new HOT METAL face is merged with a hollow construction and internal weighting this encourages shots made from a wide area of the face to hold their line with very little loss.

The hollow construction also allows weight to be engineered deep within the head for a naturally high trajectory – enabling the use of lower lofts for even greater distance. The strong bevelled lead and trailing edges effectively narrow the Mizuno MX-1000’s soleplate, for clean shots from varying lies.
