It is very important that you choose the right golf ball for your game of golf. Just because the professionals use a certain type of golf ball does not mean that you too should use the same brand of golf ball. There are three styles of golf balls - the 2-piece, 3-piece and high performance golf balls. If it is accuracy in golf that you need, then you should opt for the 3-piece and high performance golf balls. However, if you want to improve your distance, then choose the 2-piece golf ball. They are also good for the novice golfer and for long playing, high handicap golfers. It has a large rubber core that provides good speed for those with having a slow swing. As these are most commonly found in the market, they are less costly than the 3-piece balls.

With the 2-piece ball, novices can slam the ball over a long distance. However, there may not be any accuracy in the shot. It is once you develop accuracy in your golf swings that you can start using 3-piece golf balls. You know your accuracy has improved when the ball repeatedly lands in the general area. So it is only when you are accurate in your golf hits that you should use 3-piece and high performance balls as they are too expensive to land in the wrong place when you play golf.

When choosing golf balls, the cost of the ball is another point to be taken into consideration. The standard and simple 2-piece golf ball comes in 18 piece packs and when compared to the 3-piece and high performance ball, it is relatively inexpensive. You may feel that the cost of the ball is negligible when you consider how expensive the golf sport is. However, remember that the beginner golfer usually uses, and loses many golf balls in a short space of time.

So when choosing your golf ball as with the other golf equipment, it is necessary to choose it while considering your level of the game. Think about your game and swing, and then choose the golf ball that will not only define your strengths, but also rid you of your weaknesses.
